“Spiralling Words: Πoesia en acció” brings together female poetry and action. The performance explores words, images and sounds into artistic action that imagines new possibilities of ‘being with the other’. It forms part of our ongoing project Spirals, a poetic journey that crosses geographical borders and unites female voices in an exchange of languages, cultures, personal narratives and modes of expression. In Spiralling Words: Πoesia en acció we share our poetic journey working in between languages and translation with the audience. The burst of Covid-19 forced us to go into isolation and the sense of uncertainty consequently surrounded us. Boundaries between private and public spaces were challenged. The situation in arts and creative collaborations were in jeopardy. How can poetry in action provide us with a sense of belonging, sharing and crossing boundaries? How could we think of performance as a way of increasing porosity of borders, meanings and everyday life?
