What you can see in this exhibition are the works produced by artists and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV/EHU for the I International Art Competition “Tartalo Gasteiz”. It is the first competition held in the context of the event “Tartalo. II Week of the Fantastic in the Arts” and inspired by the representation of Tartalo, the famous cyclops of Basque mythology. After inviting the students of the faculty to participate, we have received nine works, seven of seven are part of the exhibition that you can see below. The jury was composed of both specialists in the field and university professors directly linked to the topic of the fantastic. In this regard, we would like to thank the members of the jury: Dr. Maitane Echevarria, Dr. Jose Antonio Morlesin Mellado, Iratxe Yarritu Cuadra and Dr. Alfonso Berroya Elosua. The works will remain on display in the Hall of Acts of Ignacio Aldecoa Culture House, and can be visited by both the attendees of the event and anyone interested in fantastic art.
