Ane Belen Ruiz Lejarcegui is a PhD student at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and a pre-doctoral researcher in the research group REWEST: Research in Western American Literature and Culture. She has recently been granted a scholarship by the Basque Government to carry out her thesis on hybrid identities, power asymmetries and othering in contemporary science fictional narrative discourse. She has also done extensive research on H.G. Wells’ early works for her BA and MA dissertations, and her current interests include Cultural Studies, Posthumanism, Contemporary American Fiction, Hybridity and Cognitive Narratology.
