David Bernabé

David Bernabé Romero is a doctoral student at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where he obtained a B.A. in English Studies (2020) and a M.A. in Comparative Literature (2021). As a young researcher, David explores how literature – in particular, myth and the fantastic – can expand and re-shape our understanding of what to be a human being means. A conception that includes our own Earth, as his 2022 paper “Rediscovering Earth through Myth” showed.

David has been conducting his research at Oxford University and its Bodleian Libraries where he attempts to build a bridge between Oxford and the Basque Country, as his coming paper “The Mythopoetic Value of the Tree of Gernika and its Impact in Tolkien´s The Lord of the Rings” manifests.
