Dr. Alejandro Martínez Sobrino (1973) is a professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, where he teaches Latin Language and Literature, specially its Reception in European Literatures (Degree of Filology), and Latin Rethoric and Poetic (Master of Comparative literature).
His academic career distinguishes by regular contributions to the fields of the Reception of the Classical Latin literature in contemporary Literature, the Production and Reception of the Ancient Literary Culture (Text Commentaries and Emblematics), and the translations of pedagogical works not yet translated into Spanish. The result of these activities have been widespread through scientific articles, books and book chapters, translations of books, and international congresses.
Since 2017, he combines his work as literature teacher and researcher with a weekly collaboration in Aldapeko, a radio program on Radio Vitoria, named “Books & Heavy Metal”.
