Ángel Chaparro Sainz is Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country and he is a member of the REWEST Research Group. He has published two books so far: Parting the Mormon Veil: Phyllis Barber’s Writing, that can be found at the prestigious Spanish collection Biblioteca Javier Coy from the University of Valencia and Transcontinental Reflections on the American West: Words, Images, Sounds beyond Borders that he and Amaia Ibarraran Vigalondo co-edited in 2015. His research deals mostly with the American West, covering fields such as minority literatures, feminist studies, ecocriticism, popular music and translation. His work has been published in academic journals such as Women’s Studies, Lectora, Miscelánea, Odisea or Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses. He has also contributed to a number of edited volumes such as Under the Western Sky: Essays on the Fiction and Music of Willy Vlautin (2018) or Growing Up a Woman: The Private/Public Divide in the Narratives of Female Development (2015).
