Dr Dimitra Fimi is Senior Lecturer in Fantasy and Children’s Literature and Co-Director of the Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic at the University of Glasgow. Both her monographs (Tolkien, Race and Cultural History, 2008; Celtic Myth in Contemporary Children’s Fantasy, 2017) won Mythopoeic Scholarship Awards, and she won the 2021 Outstanding Contribution to Tolkien Studies award (Tolkien Society). She has published extensively on J.R.R. Tolkien, fantasy literature more widely, including children’s literature, myth and legend in literature, and invented languages. She co-edits the Perspectives on Fantasy book series (Bloomsbury), with Brian Attebery and Matthew Sangster.
