Dr. Natxo Rodriguez Arcaute

Artist, professor and researcher. He works in the Department of Sculpture and Art and Technology of the Faculty of Fine Arts in the UPV/EHU since 1999. Vicedean for universitary outreach (2009-2017) and Director of Cultural Action of the UPV/EHU (2020-2022). Now coordinates the Doctoral Programme in Research in Contemporary Art and is member of the academic board of the MA in Contemporary, Technologic and Performative Art. As artist, he is been member of the groups SEAC, Selección de Euskadi de Arte de Concepto (1994-1998) and Rodríguez Fundation (1994-2012), taking part in projects related to performative arts, new media and tecnologies and collaborative art. Also linked to cultural associations and independent initiatives as member of Asamblea Amarika, civic initiative that co-managed Amarika Project (2008-2011) along with the Regional Government. PhD at the UPV/EHU (2008) titled “Visual Arts and Free Culture. An Aproachment from Contemporary Art». He is co-director of AKMEKA research group of the Basque Universitary System and from 2021 co-director of AUSART, Journal For Research in Art.
