Dr Raúl Montero Gilete (1978) is an associate professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, where he teaches British literature (Degree of English Studies), Gothic, Science Fiction and Fantasy literature (Master of Comparative literature), and English Business for communication (Master of Digital Managemente & ERP).
His academic career is marked by frequent contributions to the study of the fantastic in literature and the learning-teaching of the English language through literature. Moreover, he has been predoctoral fellow at Trinity College Dublin (2005/06) and visiting associate professor at Bodleian Library—University of Oxford (2018/19). The result of these activities have been disseminated through the publication of articles, books and book chapters, didactic guides, translations of books, and international congresses.
He has been combining his work as literature teacher and researcher with his duties as Director of University Outreach at the University of the Basque Country in Alava (2018-21), translator and fiction writer.
