Dr Maja Daniel (1981) is Professor of English at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. She holds a degree in Spanish Philology, English Philology and a Ph.D. by the University of the Basque Country. She has been researching on naturalism, regionalism and ecocriticism in the work of Annie Proulx. Presently, she is also examining the Polish post-war Western and the Polish diaspora in Texas. She has been part of the REWEST research group since 2013 and has presented papers at numerous international conferences. She has published several chapters in collected thematic works and articles in scholarly journals.
