Noèlia Díaz Vicedo is a poet, academic and translator. With a degree in English Philology from the University of Alicante and a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London, she wrote her thesis on the poetry of Maria-Mercè Marçal (with which she won the Països Catalans Prize, awarded by the Institució de les lletres catalanes in 2005), this being the first monograph on the poet and published by MHRA (2014). She combines teaching at this university with research on contemporary comparative poetry and gender studies, of which she has published several articles, chapters and edited the first book of essays on Maria-Mercè Marçal. Her line of research focuses on the dialectic between body and language in poetry written by women and the contingencies derived from the corporal dimension between poetry and performance. She has published her poetry in several magazines in Spain and the United States.
